Network Installation -

Setup or troubleshoot a two (2) computer wired or wireless network. Includes hardware installation (Ethernet card, router or switch) and configuration. Add additional devices/computers for $25 each. Hardware not included. Cables not included.

Secure Wireless Setup -

Secure wireless setup and configuration of a router and up to two computers on an existing wireless network. Hardware not included. Add additional computer for $20 each.

General IT Work - Network Connectivity & Maintenance - per hour

Set up, maintain or customize/optimize new or existing networks, install new hardware (routers, switches, new devices, etc.) and ensure each computer on the network is functioning at optimal performance levels. Periodic (weekly, monthly) or On-Call Emergency support available.

The Following Hardware Services are Available:

In-Home, On-Site or Drop-Off Service - I am very flexible and can work with you, whether at your office, in your home or drop off your computer in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon (if applicable). Call or send us an email for an appointment and/or estimate.

Hardware Diagnostics -

On-Site or drop-off diagnostics of one (1) computer to determine hardware failure and recommend repair or replacement of individual components. Written failure analysis provided.

Computer Setup & Installation -

Set up (install) one (1) computer in your home or office, install and configure all peripherals (external devices), connect it to an already installed network (router, switch, cable modem, etc.) and insure that the system is fully functional. No hardware or software provided. Add additional PCs at $50 each.

Computer Hardware Installation or Upgrade -

Install any one (1) PC compatible device in your computer, load device drivers and associated software (if applicable) and test for correct functionality. Hardware and/or software not included. If you specify and provide the hardware, I will install it for you but I cannot guarantee compatibility. Add additional devices for $25 each.

Computer Building Service - Basic -

Build one (1) standard computer from parts provided and selected by you. Note - if you specify the parts, I cannot guarantee compatibility. Operating system and installation not included.

Computer Building Service - Advanced - and up

Custom water-cooled, high performance, no-holds-barred, top-of-the-line computers built to your requirements. I provide the list of parts and their specifications. Requires approximately 1 week after receipt of parts. Priced according to complexity and number of case modifications required. Prices start at $150.

Computer Building Service - Component Selection - per hour

I will specify components based on any given level of performance (basic home or office workstation, mid-level system or top of the line, water-cooled tower of power) and provide you with a list of links where the parts can be purchased (on-line) at the best prices available. Compatibility is guaranteed.

Hardware Tuneup and Cleaning -

Just like the engine in your car, computers can suffer from a build-up of sludge, in the form of dust, cat hair and lint. Fans slow down and fail, air filters get clogged, components start to heat up and before you know it, your entire system has shut down. I can clean your system and make it literally breathe better and run cooler.

General Diagnostics -

per hour

Determine software failure (i.e. system will not boot, system crashes, etc.) and recommend corrective action. Written analysis and estimate of cost of corrective action(s) needed will be provided.

Install Operating System: Linux -

Install Linux Operating System on one (1) computer and ensure all installed hardware is functional. Linux operating system included (CD or DVD) for additional charge of $5 (to cover duplication costs only). Note - some hardware is not yet supported in Linux. Please provide hardware configuration list before requesting Linux installation.

There are also Pro-Audio versions, versions for kids and AT (Assitive Technology) versions available for the handicapped. Here is a short list of some of the more popular versions of Linux I have installed:

Install Operating System: MS Windows -

Install MS Windows Operating System (Windows 2000/XP/Media Center Edition/Vista) on one (1) computer and ensure all installed hardware is functional. Operating system software NOT included. Note - a legitimate (legal) installation CD or DVD must be provided. Vista does not currently support some hardware (drivers currently unavailable). Please provide a hardware configuration list if installing Vista.

Operating System Update - MS Windows -

Update installed operating system on one (1) computer with all available service packs and patches via broadband connection (drop-off service). Note: installed operating system MUST be a legally owned and registered version of Windows. No bootleggers, please. Operating system software not provided. I have a 12+MB/sec Internet connection and can accomplish an update very quickly.

Operating System Optimization - MS Windows -

Customize your Windows operating system configuration and apply optimization techniques for performance improvements for one (1) computer. Operating system software not provided.

Operating System Repair - MS Windows -

Repair your currently installed Windows operating system installation, if possible. Most, if not all, currently installed applications can be saved, along with email and other documents.

Lost or Forgotten Password Recovery / Resetting -

Have you forgotten or lost your Administrator and/or User passwords? I can reset or clear them so you can log onto your computer again. For obvious reasons, this is NOT something I teach people how to do, so please don't ask.

Virus, Spyware and Adware Removal -

Completely disinfect one (1) computer and remove all traces of viruses, spyware, malware and adware. Installation of software (anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-adware) included. Requires an Internet connection. Operating system repair or reinstallation is NOT included.

NOTE: in severe cases, many operating system files become infected or are replaced by infected versions. In the event of such an occurance, reinstallation or repair of the operating system is unavoidable. An additional fee of $35 is charged for this service.

Security Software Suite Installation -

Includes installation and configuration of Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Adware and Firewall software (software included) on one (1) computer. Add additional computers for $50 each. Internet access required. Does not include removal of existing Virus infections, spyware of adware.

DELL Computers - Unwanted Software Removal -

DELL is notorious for installing more useless and unwanted software on their laptops and desktop computers than you can shake a stick at. Memory hogging startup applications, useless system services, annoying applications that constantly "phone home" --- you name it, they install it. I will get rid of it ALL for you or I can selectively remove it from the ever growing list of "annoyware". Your system will breath better (run more efficiently) and thank you for it.

Operating System Tuneup - MS Windows -

If you are experiencing slow-downs in your system --- slow boot times, slow application load times, slow everything --- a tuneup may be just what you need. I will go through your operating system with a fine toothed comb and rid it of all the build-up that infests Windows and slows it to a crawl.
